AI Detector & Humanizer privacy policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

AI Detector & Humanizer ("the app", listed on Google Play as "Detect AI: Plagiarism Checker") is published by Overmax Labs. This policy explains what the app sends, what it keeps, who receives it and why.

Content you analyze

When you tap a button to analyze or rewrite something, the app sends that content to our server, which forwards it to the provider that performs the analysis and returns the result:

  • Text, documents and plagiarism checks: the text is sent to Winston AI or GPTZero. For PDF and Word documents, the text is extracted on your phone and only the text is sent, not the file.
  • Images, audio, voice and video: the file you pick is sent to AIorNot.
  • Humanize and rephrase: the text is sent to OpenAI.

Nothing is sent until you tap the button. Our server does not store the content it forwards; it keeps only a record of the operation (the type of analysis and the coins it used) to manage your coin balance. Each provider processes the content under its own terms to return the result. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.

Do not analyze content you are not allowed to share, such as other people's confidential documents.

Your History

Analyses you run inside the app (text, documents, plagiarism, images, audio and video) are saved to your History so you can review them later. History is stored in our database (Google Cloud Firestore), linked to an identifier of your device, and includes the date, the type of analysis, the score, the first 100 characters of the text and the provider's result, which can contain the analyzed text or parts of it (for example, sentence by sentence). You can delete your whole History in the app at any time; see the data deletion page.

Writing bubble (Accessibility service, optional)

If you turn it on, the app uses the Android AccessibilityService API to show a bubble next to the field you are writing in, in any app. Through this service the app accesses the text you type or select in editable fields of other apps, including messages you are composing, and any personal information that text may contain. Password fields are excluded, and the app never reads notifications, messages you receive or the rest of the screen.

The text is used on your phone only to decide whether to show the bubble. Nothing is sent until you tap an action on the bubble; then that text is sent, encrypted, to our server and to the provider for that action, as described above. Text from the bubble, and from the "Process text" option in Android's text selection menu, is not saved to your History or anywhere else. You can turn the service off at any time in the app or in Android Settings.

Camera, files and permissions

  • Camera: used only when you scan text from a photo. The text is recognized on your phone (Google ML Kit); the photo is not uploaded.
  • Files: the app only opens the files you pick.
  • Display over other apps: used only to show the writing bubble.
  • Notifications: reminders such as your daily free coins. You can turn them off in Android Settings.

Identifiers, coins and purchases

  • To keep your coin balance, free daily coins and History, our server uses an identifier of your device (the Android ID). The app has no accounts and never asks for your name or email.
  • Google Play Billing processes subscriptions and coin packs. Our server receives the purchase token, the order ID and the country of the purchase from Google Play, stores them to confirm and renew your subscription, and records that a purchase happened. We never see your payment details.

Data collected by services we use

  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) collect app usage events (for example, that an analysis started, its type and its result score, screens visited and purchases), device and app information, and crash reports, linked to a random app instance identifier. Our server also reports confirmed purchases to Firebase Analytics so that sales are counted once. We use this to understand how the app is used, measure our advertising and fix problems. Analytics never receives the content you analyze.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging, Remote Config and App Check (Google) send notifications, let us adjust app settings remotely and protect our server from abuse. App Check uses Google Play Integrity.
  • Google AdMob shows ads to users without a subscription and may use your device's advertising ID and approximate location to serve and measure ads. Where required, the app asks for your consent first (Google's User Messaging Platform), and you can change your choice in the app's settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads.

We do not sell your data. Data sent to our server and to these services is encrypted in transit.

Retention

History stays until you delete it. Purchase records are kept while needed to manage your subscription and for our legal and accounting obligations. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months, and crash reports for at most 90 days. Content you analyze is not stored by our server.

Your rights

You can delete your History in the app at any time. To ask for a copy or the deletion of other data we hold about your device, see the data deletion page or email us.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
